Probity

Probity is essential in the Commonwealth Government to ensure that public funds are spent responsibly, transparently, and ethically. It safeguards the integrity of government processes, from procurement to policy development, ensuring decisions are made fairly and without conflicts of interest, thereby maintaining public trust and accountability in government actions.

Auxlaw has a strong record of delivering practical and timely probity advice and support to Commonwealth departments and agencies. Generally, our role in such engagements includes:

  • consulting with the agency on the scope of their project and potential probity risks;
  • developing or assisting with the development of a Probity Plan;
  • delivering probity briefings and/or training;
  • reviewing or developing procurement documentation (including Approach to Market addenda);
  • assisting with confidentiality and Conflict of Interest management;
  • supporting tender evaluations, tender debriefs and contract negotiations; and
  • providing probity endorsement.

However, each engagement is different, and we tailor our support to suit each client’s individual requirements.
